Extra Curricular Education

Having taken some extra curricular classes with the likes of Logan Bailor, Mike Mahoney, Rodney May, R.J. Johnson, Gilbert Licon and various other other people, Weavers Pool Hall was brought up, remember the corner of 3rd and Penn.? Thats where I was taught the art of Snooker! There was also Larry's Pool Hall at the corner of 4th and Main. Does anybody know if there is even a Snooker table left in Roswell?

Was the public library across the street from Weavers?

No, it was a block further west. Probably a parking lot now.

I taught with Weaver's wife, Nell.  His last name was Hedgecoxe.  His last location was facing 2nd street from the alley between Main and Virginia.  He made great "pool hall chili" and was still a cranky old coot.  Does anyone remember "Eddie" the pool hall shark that was at both Weaver's and Larry's?  He could shoot some pool.  I was particularly astounded by his gold rings that turned his fingers the same shade of green as his teeth.

I remember removing the blue chalk from there to use for blue powder eyeshadow.  We only had cream at that time.  Darn I should have invented it and I would be rich today....well, maybe!!!
