Comments:

We have 5 grand children Stephanie 21, Dustin 20, Courtney 16, Clayton 10, and Hunter 6. The olest and youngest belong to our oldest son Lee. Dustin and Courtney belong to our second son, Shawn and Clayton belongs to our daughter. As you can see Lee is raising two separate families with the oldest 21 and the youngest 6, he was sure surprised when Hunter came along. Dustin went to college on a baseball scholarship (pitcher) he was ranked # 4 out of 267 junior colleges across the US. Courtney is a Junior in High School. Clayton is 10 and smaller than our youngest grandson (Hunter) who is 6 and takes after his dad. I have owned my custom frame shop for 25 years, after my 3rd open heart surgery in 07, I thought I would close my shop, but when it came down to the line, I couldn't do it, so here I am still in the shop still cutting mats and building frames, and loving life every single day. John is a retired Police Officer from the Carlsbad Ploice Department. John John our youngest son is single and lives in Louisiana. He is a helicopter mechanic for Lockheed Martin, and is looking for a woman, I want him to get one too.

School Story:

A life lesson and the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me. I had a flat on the car when I came out the Senior wing after school, and went back in and called my brother to come help me. Before my brother got there, Earl Johnson came out the door and he was all dressed in his choir clothes with black slacks white shirt red bow tie and cumberbun. He stopped and ask if I needed him to change my tire, I told him no, my brother was on his way. Earl didn't take no for an answer he got the spare out and he changed my tire. When I told him to get in I would give him a ride home, he wouldn't do it. I couldn't understand why he wouldn't let me give him a ride after he was so kind to me by changing my flat tire. He just told me to ask my brother why he wouldn't ride with me. When Bro got there Earl was walking off down the street on his way home and I told Bro to go get him and give him a ride, cause he had changed my tire. Brother did what I ask him to do. My mother had to explain to me that Earl was protecting me by not riding in the car with me alone. It took a lot of years for this to get way down into my brain, when it did, I was amazed that anyone would think badly of something like me giving Earl a ride home. They probably wouldn't today but back then, Earl believed they might, thus he walked until my brother picked him up and took him the rest of the way home. This has stayed in my mind and heart for all these years. I have tried to get in touch with Earl to thank him for watching out for a dumb white girl, but have never been able to contact him. He probably wouldn't even remember changing the flat for me, as I believe he was just a very kind person who would do that for anyone who needed his help.

Happy Belated Birthday, Nelda! On your birthday, my wife and I celebrated at the 35th Fall Homecoming Festival of the founding of the Museum of Appalachia in Clinton TN., with lots of rain, bluegrass music in the mud and lots of Appalachian mountain history. which gets in your blood and soul the more you see and experience it. It was a great day to celebrate your birthday except for one thing. You weren't there. Maybe you can make it there next time around. You'd love it. Anyway, hope it was a good one for you and John. Psalm 103.
