Comments:

After 17 years and 7 months of teaching Spanish I am going to collect on my Tennessee Consolidated Retirement Fund. No more high school classrooms for me - finally! I have been a pastor in missions and churches with So. Bapt. work (full time in Texas, Illinois, New Mexico, California until 1978), worked as a data researcher for New Mexico Health Systems agency(1979-1981), investigated motor vehicle accidents for the USDOT (NHTSA/NASS) for 10 years, 5 in Albuquerque, 5 in Memphis (Shelby and Tipton Cos), and taught Spanish in Tennessee for 17 plus years.

School Story:

After high school at RHS, school took me away from Roswell and I have never lived there again since August, 1966. I went to ENMU for 3 semesters, transferred to UNM where I graduated in the exact middle of all graduates in 1970, I met my wife to be in 1969 in Albuquerque, got married 07/11/70 and have remained in this "condition" ever since (next year will be our 44th). I went to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Aug of 1970 and graduated with a Master of Divinity in May of 1973. The rest is history you see above under comments.

My favorite story happened when I was real hungry and there was a pep rally on Friday before the big Hobbs-Roswell game. The pep rally had just ended, the bell rang, and I, on the third row bleacher seats, east side, shot off like a horse in race, I must have stepped on a girls back while jumping to the floor to run to the cafeteria, but I did not look back. I was the third in line and did eat. But to this day I do not know who the girl was. I hope she is not reading this....

Happy Birthday, Gene! As your birthday fast approaches, you are probably thinking, it''s no big deal. Birthdays come and go and it's not important. Nothing could be further from the truth. It's important because you are. Reflection is no good without gratitude. Then it becomes nostalgia and it never did anyone any good. Birthdays are a time to thank God for his creative power. So enjoy your birthday and give thanks to God for life - abundant life. Have some cake and ice cream. KLUJICS! Psalm 145: 8 - 13.

Happy Birthday, Bucky! Hoping you have a great one and you get many unexpected and wonderful surprises from your family and friends near and far. Did you ever think you would be settled in Chapel Hill, NC? Life is so full of weird things you never see coming. You don't have to answer that, by the way. Anyway, I digress and all choices are personal. Have some cake and ice cream. KLUJICS! Psalm 145: 8-18.
