Comments:

After 17 years and 7 months of teaching Spanish I am going to collect on my Tennessee Consolidated Retirement Fund. No more high school classrooms for me - finally! I have been a pastor in missions and churches with So. Bapt. work (full time in Texas, Illinois, New Mexico, California until 1978), worked as a data researcher for New Mexico Health Systems agency(1979-1981), investigated motor vehicle accidents for the USDOT (NHTSA/NASS) for 10 years, 5 in Albuquerque, 5 in Memphis (Shelby and Tipton Cos), and taught Spanish in Tennessee for 17 plus years.

When I retired in 2008, I didn't know that I would do so in Portland, TN. We have been here since and are wondering where the time went. Many of you have moved since you've retired. Whether it's across town or cross-country it takes planning and is stressful. The thing is, Eloise and I are pretty happy where we ended up. It's not like we took darts and shot them at a map of the US and said that's where we're going to retire. Tt just happened. Yes, health and wellbeing are important at this stage of life (as in any stage). To all my Coyote friends, you are the best of the best and whether we were "close" or not all of you are a blessing to me. It's been a privilege to wish you a Happy Birthday. Keep howling, Coyotes!

School Story:

After high school at RHS, school took me away from Roswell and I have never lived there again since August, 1966. I went to ENMU for 3 semesters, transferred to UNM where I graduated in the exact middle of all graduates in 1970, I met my wife to be in 1969 in Albuquerque, got married 07/11/70 and have remained in this "condition" ever since. I went to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Aug of 1970 and graduated with a Master of Divinity in May of 1973. The rest is history you see above under comments.

My favorite story happened when I was real hungry and there was a pep rally on Friday before the big Hobbs-Roswell game. The pep rally had just ended, the bell rang, and I, on the third row of bleacher seats, east side, shot off like a horse in race, I must have stepped on a girl's back while jumping to the floor to run to the cafeteria, but I did not look back. I was the third in line and did eat. But to this day I do not know who the girl was. I hope she is not reading this....

Happy Birthday, Carol! This will be the 60th year since we graduated from RHS. While it's easy to write, there are so many unknowns in what each classmate has lived or accomplished in those years. I am going to make an effort to remind each one to make an attempt to attend the 60th High School Reunion in 2025. I hope we can meet when the time comes. I am making a commitment to be where it's held. Have a wonderful birthday and Happy New Year to you!. KLUJICS! Psalm 23:6.
