Comments:

After I graduated from Roswell High, I went to ENMU for a semester. Then my second semester was at San Bernardino Valley College in California (my family moved a lot - my father was a country club manager). I stayed out of school for a year while my parents, who had moved to Boulder, CO, gained residency, then began there at CU in 1967 in pharmacy school. I graduated in 1972 (with a second degree in business) and moved back to California. After working as a pharmacist and hospital pharmacy manager for 10 years, I started my own home healthcare business. I am now about to do my 4th start-up in early 2010 and have no idea what I would do if I retired. A two year old picture is on my company's website: www.allstaroxygen.com

School Story:

I transferred to Roswell High as a junior, after moving there from Dallas, so I was only there for the last two years. When school started I was still on crutches from my motor scooter accident. I had Vespa which I had used for my morning paper route in Dallas. After moving to town in the summer, I was waiting for one of my few acquaintances to get off work at 8pm so we could go see a movie - Jerry Lewis in the "Nutty Professor". I went to the local convenience store to get a few things for our family just to kill time. On the way back I had the bag of groceries in front of me and as I went over some railroad tracks, the bag shifted. It was dark and I was doing about 30mph as I reached down to adjust the bag. When I looked up I was headed toward a parked pick-up truck parked at the right curb. I smacked into it and flew over the handlebars, hitting my knee, and landed in the back of the truck - on a couch. It probably saved my life. My kneecap was shattered - which later kept me out of the Viet Nam War - but I recovered and it has never bothered me since.

Other memories include:

Dances with the Mystics Band.

I was in English class when it was announced over the PA that President Kennedy had been shot.

The dirty lyrics of "Louie, Louie" being passed around.

Happy Birthday, Mack! Have a wonderful birthday. You and Joanne should go out for a real nice steak dinner. I would say "and a movie" but there is nothing good coming out of the movie industry any more. Whatever you do, have fun and give thanks to God.
KLUJICS! Psalm 145: 8 - 13.
